A Nigerian man with instagram username @iam_mik1 today 24 of January shared his young brother’s experience on Nigerian Education system which has been flawed with different ills and irregularity. He stated that his brother was denied admission to study at the University of Lagos (Unilag).
Mik further stated that his brother exceeded all the scores required of him to be guaranteed admission however, he was still denied admission because WAEC refused to release his Physics score on time.
His caption reads:
"My brother got 306 in UTME and 22/30 in his Post UTME.. 7A1,1B2 and 1C4 in his waec. He wasn't given admission in UNILAG because his physics waec result was outstanding when the admission started, the physics result came out 2 days later and he scored A1. His aggregate was higher than the cut off mark for the course he applied for and yet nothing has been done and that was waec fault.
The director of Jamb asked the registrar to write to UNILAG to consider him for his admission considering the fact his waec result came out later and his aggregate passed the cut-off. We have still not heard from them and three admissions is almost coming to an end. The pictures there are all his documents to prove that!!! His first choice of institution is UNILAG!"
Attached below are pictures of his brothers score and performances in both WAEC and UTME
Learn More Nigeria Also noted that IJMB would have given such students an option of admission because the WAEC result will be fully required to facilitate the 200 level admission after the completion of the programme. This is a gateway for students with outstanding or deficiency in O'level subjects by awaiting or re-writing during the period of the IJMB programme.
