WHAT IS IJMB

IJMB stands for "Interim Joint Matriculation Board." It is an advanced-level programme in Nigeria whose result may support an eligible Direct Entry application to a university and course that accept it. Admission is not automatic and remains subject to institution-specific requirements. Here are three features of the programme:

  • Direct Entry into Universities:

IJMB provides a direct entry pathway for students to gain admission into universities in Nigeria without having to go through the competitive JAMB UTME process.

  • Time and Cost Efficiency:

The IJMB program is a one-year academic program, which is relatively shorter than a traditional pre-degree program.

  • Subject Specialization:

IJMB allows students to focus on subjects related to their intended field of study.

This program provides an alternative pathway for students to gain admission into universities and is particularly beneficial for those of us who may not have performed well in the JAMB UTME or wish to take a different route to higher education.

REQUIREMENTS

The specific requirements for the IJMB (Interim Joint Matriculation Board) program may vary depending on the institution offering the program. However, here are some general requirements.

  • Educational Qualification: IJMB provides a direct entry to Nigerian universities, bypassing the competitive JAMB UTME process.
  • Subject Combination: Select three A-Level subjects related to your course of study.
  • Application Form: Register with IJMB EDUCATIONAL CONSULT to choose from accredited study centers nationwide, close to your location.

However, note that:

  • IJMB programme registration does not require a JAMB or Post-UTME score; university Direct Entry rules vary
  • Candidate awaiting result can also apply
  • Admission is not automatic and remains subject to each university's screening and course requirements
