Covenant University was ranked 91st out of the first best 100 universities in the latest ranking which focused on the universities from emerging economies. Covenant University which happens to be one of the most popular private university in Nigeria has been ranked among the world's 100 best varsities from emerging economies in 2020 by The Times Higher Education (THE).
According to Times Higher Education (THE). , the universities were ranked based on 13 performance indicators which are used to judge their international outlook, knowledge transfer, research and teaching.
Overall, 533 universities from 47 countries are included in the ranking while five universities from Africa made the first 100 list. Out of the five African universities are four South African universities while Covenant University makes it the fifth one, a privately owned university in Nigeria.
